Jewelry Care

NEYA jewelry is intentionally designed and meant to be worn for years to come. A little everyday care will help preserve each piece’s finish and shape.

Caring for Gold Vermeil

Our gold vermeil is made with a 3.5-micron layer of 18K gold over sterling silver and finished with a protective anti-tarnish e-coating. NEYA’s 18K gold vermeil goes beyond the U.S. minimum standard, being 40% thicker than the 2.5-micron minimum for vermeil.

The gold surface can gradually wear with use. To help preserve it, avoid friction, abrasive surfaces, and contact with water, chlorine, perfume, lotions, and cleaning products. Apply cosmetics and fragrances before putting on your jewelry.

Gently wipe your pieces with the provided NEYA polishing cloth or with a soft, non-abrasive cloth of your choice. Avoid vigorous polishing or chemical jewelry cleaners unless specifically recommended for your piece, as these can wear down the protective coating and gold layer.

Caring for Sterling Silver

Our 925 sterling silver pieces are finished with a protective rhodium coating to help maintain their shine and prevent oxidation. Silver can naturally oxidize over time, particularly when exposed to moisture, cosmetics, and other substances on the skin. The coating helps slow this process but does not always prevent it entirely.

If your silver jewelry loses its original shine, you can gently clean it with the polishing cloth provided and it will return to its original state.

Wearing Open Rings

Our open rings are intentionally designed and are not meant to be stretched or adjusted. Everyday pressure can bend or distort them, so take care to avoid catching them on clothing, hair, pockets, or bags. Remove your rings before exercising, lifting heavy objects, or doing anything that could put pressure on them.

If your ring doesn’t fit comfortably, gently remove it rather than trying to reshape it. Unused rings can be exchanged for another size in accordance with our exchange policy. Please refer to our for help finding your fit.

Earring Backs & Posts

Handle earring posts and backs gently when putting them on or taking them off. Align the back with the post and slide it into place without forcing or twisting it. Precious metals can bend under pressure, and repeatedly bending a post can weaken it or cause it to break. If a post becomes bent or a back feels difficult to secure, avoid forcing it and for assistance.

When traveling, keep your earrings in their original box or a protective case. Avoid carrying them loose in pockets or bags, where the posts can catch or bend.

Storing Your Jewelry

Store each piece separately to prevent scratches and tangling. Keep your jewelry somewhere dry, away from humidity and direct sunlight, and remove it before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping. NEYA jewelry is crafted with great care and attention to quality. With a little everyday care, your pieces can be worn for years to come.

Craftsmanship & Precious Metal Sourcing

NEYA produces pieces in small quantities, keeping production intentional and closely considered. Our jewelry is manufactured in New Jersey with an emphasis on responsible sourcing, ethical production, and carefully considered supply chains, including the responsible sourcing of precious metals. At NEYA, we don’t compromise on material quality to cut costs. Our gold vermeil is crafted over sterling silver, never brass or other base metals.
